One of the strongest desires that most of us experience is the desire to be in a relationship, and ultimately to get married. The desire for intimacy, security, and sexuality has such a gravitational pull that most of us at one point or other will be tempted to think that we are the exception to the rule. Which rule? The God-given, in our best interest, rule that Christians should only “marry in the Lord” (1 Cor 7:39). If you aren’t toying with the idea now, there’s a high chance that at some point over the next few years, you will be. Please read Kathy Keller’s blog — if not for yourself, to prepare yourself for helping a friend. Tim and Kathy Keller have been counseling singles and married couples about this issue for decades. There’s lots of great wisdom here. Take it from the sadder but wiser: please save yourself from heartbreak and for the Lord.
